How to access museums and cultural venues during the Olympic and Paralympic Games?

Cultural places located outside security perimeters are accessible under the usual conditions, i.e. without proof or Games Pass (QR Code) to present.
You can get there on foot, by bike, by public transport or by motorized vehicle.

This is an opportunity to get away from busy areas and discover or rediscover certain cultural places such as:

  • The immigration museum (Paris, 12ᵉ)
  • Vincennes Castle (Vincennes)
  • The Rodin Museum (Paris, 7ᵉ)
  • The Carnavalet museum (Paris, 3ᵉ)
  • The Picasso Museum (Paris, 3ᵉ)
  • The Arab World Institute (Paris, 5ᵉ)

Cultural venues in the blue zone remain open and accessible during the Games. The Games Pass is not required.

You can get there on foot, by bike or by public transport, according to the usual access methods.

For visitors in a motorized vehicle (car, motorcycle, etc.), the entry ticket serves as proof to be presented during an inspection. Remember to reserve your visit slot to have this proof.

Some Parisian cultural places are located in the blue perimeter:

  • The Quai Branly museum, except on August 3 and 4 when it will be in the red zone (Paris, 7ᵉ);
  • The Invalides Museum (Paris, 7ᵉ)

In the red perimeter, cultural venues remain open and accessible throughout the duration of the Games.

Visitors wishing to access cultural places in the red zone can go there without proof if they are on foot, by bike or by public transport. Neither proof nor Games Pass (QR code) will be requested.

On the other hand, by motorized vehicle or taxi, only PRMs can access cultural places in the red zone, after having requests a Games Pass.

Several cultural places are located in the red perimeter, among them:

  • The Eiffel Tower throughout the Games (Paris, 16th)
  • The Sacré-Cœur on August 3 and 4 (Paris, 18th)
  • The Museum of Romantic Life on August 3 and 4 (Paris, 9th)
  • The Orangerie Museum (Paris, 1st)
  • The Pantheon on August 3 and 4 (Paris, 5th)
  • The Museum of Modern Art on August 10 and 11 (Paris, 16th)
  • The Palais Galliera on August 10 and 11 (Paris, 16th)
  • The Orsay Museum on August 3 and 4 (Paris, 7ᵉ)
  • The Pompidou Center on August 10 and 11 (Paris, 3rd)

Cultural places located in gray perimeters are cultural places which are used for competition venues. Access is therefore closed to the general public and is only possible for spectators and accredited Paris 2024 professionals.

Part of the gardens of the Palace of Versailles and the Grand Palais are affected. The only exception is that the rest of the Château de Versailles is open to visitors (see access terms below).
