Leicester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur Women: match thread and how to watch

Hello friends. Are you a Tottenham Hotspur fan, mired in the midst of yet another pointless international break, longing for the return of Ange-Ball and positive, attractive football?

…Well, ok fine, but do you think you might be feeling that way SOON?

Regardless, there is a Spurs team that is playing football this weekend — it’s Tottenham Hotspur Women. Robert Vilahamn has gotten Spurs off to a pretty decent start this season. “Bob-Ball” may not quite have the panache that Ange-Ball has at its best, but it’s certainly easier on the eyes than Spurs’ play under Rehanne Skinner last season.

That said, it’s not all been roses. Spurs are coming off of two 1-1 draws in winnable games against Liverpool and Everton, are still without their best player in Beth England, and lost starting midfielder Eveliina Summanen (and this should sound familiar) until the new year with a MCL injury.

But the cupboard is not bare. Summanen’s injury is a blow, but Vilahamn has options in the center of the pitch — Drew Spence, most likely — and they also have the WSL’s current leading scorer Martha “BIG MARF” Thomas. With a win over 7th place Leicester today, Spurs could jump as high as second in the table.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch Spurs Women yet this season, you should give them a try. They’re a team worth getting behind.

This is your open thread. Feel free to use this to discuss this match, as well as any other internationals you may wish to talk about.
