Pinterest Predicts Cafécore Will Take Over Kitchens in 2024—Here’s How to Try the Trend

My roommate and I have a shared love of French Press coffee, as well as a shared desire to start each morning with a freshly poured cup (or three) of its brew. So, naturally, our kitchen counter has a corner dedicated to everything you’d need to kickstart your day with caffeine.

But of course, this coffee-centric corner in our apartment isn’t novel. According to Pinterest Predicts — Pinterest’s annual breakout trend predictions created by using search trend data from its 482 million users — cafécore will be taking over in 2024. And cafecore is exactly what you’d think it is: The idea that we’ll be taking design inspiration from your local coffee shop and favorite cafes and implementing it in our own spaces. This means anything as simple as keeping your coffee beans in a clear, airtight container and having a dedicated syrup station will be in vogue. If the idea of the predicted cafécore trend intrigues you, but you’re not exactly sure where to start, keep reading to see a few kitchen additions that just might help you nail it.

Best Cafe-Core Products at Amazon

Gevi Espresso Machine

Amazon

As someone who loves a good cappuccino, I’ve had my eye on this espresso machine from Gevi for the last few months. It’s small enough to fit on my kitchen counter without crowding, and includes a steam wand to help with getting that cappuccino foam. It only measures 12.28 by 5.51 by 11.97, so it won’t take up too much space on your kitchen counter either.

Balmuda Tea Kettle

Amazon

After buying Balmuda’s toaster oven back in 2022, I knew I wanted to try more of the brand’s kitchen goods. And while I love a classic stovetop kettle, I recently decided it was finally time to buy myself an electric one and treated myself to this one from Balmuda. It feels lightweight even when it’s at its fullest, fits in beautifully with my neutral kitchen appliances (I somehow ended up with all white, ivory, or beige-adjacent gadgets), and helps me not make any unnecessary spills while pouring, thanks to its long, gooseneck spout.

Le Creuset Stoneware French Press

Amazon

I recently stayed at a house that had this Le Creuset French press in its kitchen and I was obsessed with it. Not because it makes drastically different coffee than the trusty Bodum French press my roommate uses, but because it’s a statement piece that you know will last decades. So yes, this one is on my holiday wish list (in Artichaut, please, in case my mother is reading this).

Anphsin Glass Coffee Containers with Shelf

Amazon

You want to keep your coffee beans and grounds in airtight containers to retain the freshness. If you have the counterspace, this set has been a favorite in my apartment for years. Not only are they big enough to keep at least a month’s supply of scoops, it also comes with a scoop that matches the wood holder, for a streamlined design.

Koythin Ceramic Coffee Set

Amazon

A friend bought me a couple of these green mugs as a birthday gift and I haven’t sipped out of anything else since. And while you might think the design is the obvious best part, the hidden hero is the smooth glaze that helps prevent coffee stains from being left on the ceramic. The other mugs in my cupboard probably feel a bit abandoned at this point.

Molimoli Coffee Syrup Dispenser Set

Amazon

Every coffee shop has a couple of syrup containers at the ready for customers who enjoy a dash of simple syrup or honey to sweeten their drink. I got this set for a friend’s housewarming and anytime I’m over at their apartment, the glass containers are filled with seasonal syrups ready to be pumped into their coffee or cocktails.

Lucky Goodness Ceramic Sugar Bowl with Bamboo Lids

Amazon

This one might not be necessary for everyone, but if you take sugar in your coffee, these are some of my favorite vessels for holding them. Not only do these jars come with their own serving tray to keep things tidy, they also have small serving spoons so I’m not reaching for my silverware drawer anytime I need a scoop.

MyLifeUnit Mug Holder Tree

Amazon

I had this mug tree in my first apartment and it has survived the countless moves I’ve made since. It solves the problem of limited cabinet space, allows me to show off my favorite mugs, and doesn’t require me to do any drilling or hanging, like a floating shelf or hooks would.

LeleCat Hanging Kitchen Baskets

Amazon

With so many miscellaneous coffee goods and only so much counter space, we rely on these hanging kitchen baskets to hold the overflow items that I want to have on-hand — coffee filters, bags of beans, you name it. The best part is, thanks to the sturdy adhesives that come with it, we won’t have to spackle over any drill holes when we eventually move out.
