In order to install Windows it’s necessary to partition using GPT
or GUID
to work with UEFI
properly. For context, I’m usually using Ubuntu, or sometimes Fedora, and it’s generally simpler in this regard.
I’ll be using the live Ubuntu distro of 23.10 to partition a hard drive as GPT GUID in preparation for the Windows installation. It would seem that Ubuntu will automatically use GUID? This HDD will be less than 2TB.
How would a drive be prepared for Windows and UEFI?
I’m using Linux tools but will be installing Microsoft Windows.
