How to get farm animals in Lego Fortnite

Farmers in Lego Fortnite will be thrilled to hear that you can now collect farm animals, adding them to your villages. After being brought in to tiny barns, they’ll produce materials for you in exchange for food.

Below, we detail how to unlock farm animals in Lego Fortnite and what type of resources they give.

How to get farm animals in Lego Fortnite

To add farm animals to your Lego Fortnite village, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Reach village level 2 to unlock the ability to build Animal Houses.
  2. Place an Animal House (10 planks). After placing the house, you’ll learn how to make Animal Treats.
  3. Go to your grill and make a bunch of Animal Treats (5 vines and 3 corn).
  4. After finding wild animals (chickens, cows, pigs, or sheep), feed them the Animal Treat. They will begin to follow you for a short period of time.
  5. Head back to your village, feeding the animal more treats if they stop following you.
  6. Interact with the Animal House while the animal is still following you to assign the animal to the house. Each house can only hold one animal, so you’ll need to build multiple if you want a bunch of animals.

With that, the animal of your selection will stick around, so long as you have the space in your village for it. They’ll also sleep during the night in their houses, so you don’t have to worry about skeletons or monsters getting them.

At village level 10, you can have up to seven animals in your village, but they also share resident slots with regular villagers. That being said, you may want to make a second farm village separate from your favorite Fortnite characters if you want to grab a bunch of animals.

What do farm animals do in Lego Fortnite?

In exchange for housing and food, the animals will produce different resources:

  • Chickens: feathers and fertilizer
  • Sheep: wool and fertilizer
  • Pigs: mushrooms and fertilizer

You don’t have to feed them Animal Treats either. Food like corn and vines do just fine, so make sure to put some in their Animal Houses to yield resources.

This is a great way to get a steady stream of resources rather than going out and slaying the animals.
