WWE Stock Report: CM Punk knows how to draw money

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report.

In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Clash at the Castle 2024, a lot of fortunes were changed.

With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week:

Stock Down #3: Piper Niven

Piper Niven appears to have left the WWE women’s championship scene just about as quickly as she entered it. If she’s not going to win the title in her home country of Scotland, then she’s most certainly not going to win it anytime soon thereafter. Unlike Drew McIntyre, she doesn’t have a deeply personal conflict waiting for her on the other side of this loss.

Stock Down #2: Ricochet

Ricochet appears to have been written off WWE TV after Bron Breakker slammed him onto a car windshield on Raw and sent him to the hospital. Ricochet also dropped the WWE Speed championship to Andrade in order to tie up that loose end as he is reportedly on his way out of WWE.

Stock Down #1: Street Profits

The Street Profits weren’t exactly faring well even when Bobby Lashley was around as their leader, but in his absence, they basically exist to get beaten up by The Bloodline. On this week’s SmackDown, they couldn’t even be ringside to watch Kevin Owens’ back because The Bloodline ambushed them backstage. Now that Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes are once again involved in Bloodline business and ran them off in Scotland, it makes the Profits’ ineffectiveness stand out that much more.

Now let’s see whose stock increased the most this week:

Stock Up #3: Unholy Union

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn shocked the world when they dethroned Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair to become the new WWE women’s tag team champions in their home country of Scotland at Clash at the Castle. The Unholy Union took advantage of triple threat rules by pinning Shayna Baszler instead of one of the champs. Fyre and Dawn have not been pushed at all prior to this win so it’s a pretty big step up, yet questions remain about whether or not this surprise booking decision was simply a one night feel good moment for the duo.

Stock Up #2: Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton & The Bloodline

Cody closed the book on AJ Styles’ quest to win the WWE championship by forcing him to say “I Quit” in Scotland. The Bloodline also took care of business in Scotland when Solo Sikoa defeated Kevin Owens in the main event on SmackDown. Randy Orton returned to a thunderous pop afterwards to RKO Tonga Loa. These stories all kind of merged when The Bloodline attacked Cody at Clash at the Castle, so the stage is now set for a super trio of babyfaces to go to war with the top heel stable on SmackDown.

Stock Up #1: CM Punk

CM Punk screwed Drew McIntyre over at Clash at the Castle by dressing up as a WWE referee to only give him a two count on what should have been the winning fall over Damian Priest, before kicking Drew in the balls to cost him the world title match in his home country of Scotland. It sounds like CM will be medically cleared to compete very soon, and a fight against McIntyre is the most anticipated money match that WWE can book right now.

There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think changed the most this week?
