WATCH: Marc Guiu on how to pronounce his name correctly

Marc Guiu was announced as Chelsea’s latest signing on Monday morning, and the number one question on everyone’s mind was … how do say his name? (And by everyone I mean at least two: me and at least one other person in the comments.)

Fortunately, the 18-year-old is here to help us out, with a short little video from Chelsea social media. And he didn’t even need a whiteboard like César “Ath-Pilly-Kweta” back in the day. Miss you, Dave!

Take it away, Marc Gi-you.

With that cleared up, here’s some more wholesome content from our new young striker, who brought his granddad along for his Chelsea signing and announcement. Looks like the old man’s got some skills still, too! (Obviously an ex-player as well!)

“I started playing football because of my grandad. [He was] a huge inspiration to me as a child playing on the pitch all day. […] That I am where I am thanks to him and it’s all so I can live my dream and his, too.

“So, it’s really important that he is here today because he’s been there through it all with me throughout my career so far. […] I always imagined it [playing in the Premier League]. It was always the two of us that believed I could. We would say that I could make it.”

Let’s hope the dream is only just beginning.
