One of the greatest competitive skateboarders of his generation, Nyjah Huston is coming to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with Team USA looking to add the single piece of missing hardware to his impressive trophy collection: an Olympic medal.
Huston was considered the skateboarder to beat heading into Tokyo 2020 (in 2021), but he struggled with a wrist injury during competition and left Japan without a medal, finishing seventh.
Missing the podium at the Olympics was uncharacteristic for Huston. He’s known for performing under pressure. Over his 18-year career, he has topped the podium more times than not in a period punctuated by heroic wins including six-time world champion and 15-time X Games gold medalist.
He comes into these Olympic Games with three first-place finishes at the World Skateboarding Tour qualifiers in 2022 and 2023. And more recently, two first-place finishes at the X Games 2024, winning street and best trick to boost his confidence.
The 29-year-old from Laguna Beach, California is now ready for his second Olympic Games in top form following knee surgery for an ACL tear in 2022.
