How to watch and follow 2024/25

Are you new to the Premier League and not sure what it’s all about? We have you covered.

The opening match of the season kicks off on Friday 16 August at 20:00 BST as Manchester United, the Premier League’s most successful club, from the north west of England, host London club Fulham

These are two of 20 clubs who play each other once at home and once away to claim three points for a win or one point for a draw after 90 minutes.

These points determine the team finishing top of the league, the champions, after 380 matches, the last of which are on 25 May 2025.

Current champions are Manchester City, who have won the title the last four years. Their closest challengers have been Arsenal, who have finished second the past two years.

The bottom three teams will be relegated to the league below, the Championship, from where three teams will be promoted to the Premier League.
