How to Change the Project Owner When There Is No Project Admin:How to Change the Project Owner When There Is No Project Admin – Tips and Tricks

Hello,

Our organization is currently using the Asana Business plan, and I have Admin privileges. Recently, we had a situation where an employee left, and now I need to change the Project Owner for one of the projects.

The issue is that the project only had the former employee as the Project Owner, and there was no one with Project Admin privileges assigned. Ideally, the Project Owner should have granted Project Admin rights to another team member before leaving, but unfortunately, this didn’t happen.

Could you please advise on how I can change the Project Owner to another team member in this situation? Any guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @이수민 , welcome to the forum

Within the particular project, click on the blue Share button and note the Members. If there is no Project Admin then you should be able to claim that role.

Then, as the Project Admin you can change the project owner, either by editing the project details from the projects action dripdown menu (on the right of the project’s title) or from a Portfolio that contains the project.

If you cannot beome a Project Admin, you will need to create a support ticket, by following the instructions here: How to contact our Support Team
