LOS ANGELES — No. 19 Gonzaga (11-4, 2-0) continues a busy week of West Coast Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 4, visiting the Loyola Marymount Lions (9-6, 1-2) at 6 p.m. at Gersten Pavilion.

Gonzaga vs. LMU will be televised on NonStopLocal KHQ, the NBC affiliate located in Spokane, Wash.

In Seattle, the game will air on FOX 13.

Gonzaga Men’s Basketball Game Notes:

– No. 19/19 Gonzaga travels to Loyola Marymount for a West Coast Conference game in the Gersten Pavilion Saturday at 6 p.m.

– Gonzaga is coming off an 81-50 victory over Portland in the 2025 Community Cancer Fund Classic in the Spokane Arena Thursday. Five Zags finished in double-figure scoring led by Nolan Hickman’s 13 points. Ryan Nembhard had 10 points and nine points, and Michael Ajayi grabbed 15 rebounds.

– Gonzaga’s 10 straight true road wins are tied for the longest active streak in the nation. (Saint Mary’s – 10)

– Ryan Nembhard’s 142 assists are first in the nation. The senior has 36 turnovers. Nembhard’s 9.5 assists per game is second in the country. His 3.94 assist-to-turnover ratio is seventh.

– Gonzaga is 13th in the nation averaging 86.9 points per game, which would rank third in GU history.

– Five Zags are averaging double-digit scoring, with a sixth at 9.7 points per game. Five Bulldogs are 1,000-point career scorers.

– As a team, GU is sixth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.86). The Zags are seventh averaging 19.0 assists per game.

– The Bulldogs are ninth in the country shooting 80.2 percent from the free throw line. GU averages 15.9 made free throws per game, which leads the West Coast Conference.

– Khalif Battle is 18th in the nation from the line at 92 percent. He made 50 straight free throws before missing which ranks second in program history (Derek Raivio, 56)

– Gonzaga is eighth in the country in three-point percentage defense, holding opponents to 27.2 percent from behind-the-arc. Only one Zag opponent has shot at least 33% from 3-point range, and only three have made 10 or more threes in a game versus GU.

– Braden Huff (58.9 percent) and Graham Ike (56.6 percent) are first and second in the WCC in field goal percentage. Ben Gregg is second shooting 69.5 percent from inside-the-arc.

– The Bulldogs have now won 29 straight West Coast Conference openers, dating back to a 72-61 loss at Santa Clara in 1996.

– Mark Few was recently named a first-time nominee for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

– After back-to-back losses at San Francisco and Washington State to open West Coast Conference play, Loyola Marymount cruised to an 82-61 win over Oregon State Thursday. Four Lions finished in double-digit scoring led by Jevon Porter’s 22 points and 13 rebounds. Will Johnston added 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

– Porter is fifth in the WCC averaging eight boards per game, and third at 1.6 blocks. He’s scoring 13.9 points per outing.

– Caleb Stone-Carrawell chips in 13.7 points. Johnston and Alex Merkviladze add 12.4 and 10.9 points.

– Johnston dishes out a team-best 3.5 assists per game.

SERIES INFO

– This is the 104th all-time meeting between GU and Loyola Marymount. GU has an 81-22 advantage in the series.

– GU has won 32 of the last 34 meetings.

– The Bulldogs are 49-4 against LMU under Mark Few.

– In the latest matchup, Graham Ike scored 23 points and Nolan Hickman added 22 in Gonzaga’s 91-74 victory over Loyola Marymount on Feb. 15, 2024. Ryan Nembhard had 16 points.

– Gonzaga limited Portland to 17 points in the first half of the win on Jan. 2.

– It was the fewest points allowed in a half by a Bulldog team since North Alabama scored 14 in 2018.

– It was the fewest points allowed in a half by GU team against a conference foe since Santa Clara had 15 in 2013.
