On Sunday morning, Breezy Johnson became the first American to win a medal at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics. And she made it count, winning gold in the Alpine skiing women’s downhill event by just 0.04 seconds.
The 30-year-old from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is competing at her second Olympics. She participated in two events in 2018 but missed the 2022 Beijing Games with an injury suffered in Cortina, the same place where she won gold.
However, her journey at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics isn’t over yet. Watch coverage of Alpine skiing at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on NBC and USA Network, and streaming live on Peacock and NBC Olympics platforms.
