Boys should know how to treat people with disabilities. Most people don’t know what to say… so they stare, avoid, or say the wrong thing. Today we taught the boys something simple: speak to them, not around them. Don’t stare. Don’t assume. Just be respectful. Also, lend a helping hand. Before we started, they all knew we were trying to teach so they didn’t think I was really being mean. At the end of the day, they’re people first.
