DENVER — The Denver International Airport got approval on Monday to study providing on-site child care to airport employees.
The city council approved engaging in an $800,000 contract with the nonprofit Executives Partnering to Invest in Children, or EPIC. The three-year project will examine child care needs among the 40,000 employees at DIA and how the airport might fill service gaps with a child care facility on-site or near the airport.
The proposal passed on Monday in an 11-2 vote, with At-Large Councilmember Sarah Parady and District 8 Councilmember Shontel Lewis dissenting.
