There are 14 sets of medals to be awarded on Day 4, including the highly-anticipated U.S. women’s team final in gymnastics.

Gymnastics

Simone Biles and Team USA look to get back atop the podium as they compete in the women’s gymnastics final. The U.S. women have won the gold medal in the team competition in two of the last three Olympics.

Swimming

In the pool, two-time Olympic gold medalist Bobby Finke looks to defend his 800m freestyle gold medal while three-time Olympic medalist Regan Smith competes in the women’s 100m backstroke.

Alabama Olympians Competing

Team USA Gymnastics: Suni Lee

Suni Lee will compete with Team USA in the women’s artistic team all-around competition.

She will be with Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Hezly Rivera and Jordan Chiles. Team USA won silver in Tokyo.

Lee went to Auburn University in Alabama.

Team USA Soccer: Tanner Tessmann

Tanner Tessman and Team USA have had one loss to France and one win against New Zealand. The team must beat Guinea in order to move into the knockout phase of the tournament.

If the team draws or loses against Guinea, then it depends on how New Zealand plays against France.

  • If there is a draw between Guinea and Team USA, New Zealand would have to also lose or draw while having a worse score difference than the U.S.
  • If Team USA loses and New Zealand wins, then the U.S. is out.
  • If Team USA loses and New Zealand loses, the tiebreaker comes down to goals scored during the group stage.

Tessman has started for Team USA in both games. He has not scored a goal yet, but Team USA made history by scoring four goals against New Zealand.

Team Canada Gymnastics: Shallon Olsen

Shallon Olsen will compete with Team Canada in the women’s artistic team all-around competition.

She scored a 14.166 on the vault, which was put toward the team score. Her runs for floor, uneven bars and balance beam weren’t used for Team Canada’s scoring. Her teammates are Aurelie Tran, Cassie Lee, Ava Stewart and Ellie Black.

Olsen has been to the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but did not place.

She went to the University of Alabama.

Kalia Antoniou is competing in the 100m freestyle event.

She competed in the Tokyo Olympics, but didn’t medal.

She went to the University of Alabama.

Team Germany Tennis: Tim Puetz

Tim Puetz won his first round of men’s doubles with his partner, Kevin Krawietz, after it was postponed over the weekend.

The team will now take on France in round 2. The time of the match has not yet been announced.

Puetz was born in Germany and chose Auburn because he wanted a chance to play in the SEC.

Team Iceland Swimming: Anton McKee

This is the second swimming event for Anton McKee in the Paris Olympics. He is competing in the 200m breaststroke.

He came in first in his heat in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:00.62. But in the entire event, he came in 25th and did not move on to the semifinals.

McKee has been in every Summer Olympics since 2012. He went to the University of Alabama, where he broke a school record for the individual 200m medley at the SEC Championships in 2017.

How to watch Tuesday: Broadcast coverage

Cable, satellite and even classic over-the-air audiences will be able to easily find Olympic programming on TV. On each day of the Olympics, NBC will have, at minimum, nine hours of live event coverage, starting each morning and continuing through the afternoon.

In the evening, come back to NBC for Primetime in Paris.
