How to Apply to French Universities


Applying at a public university

Scenario A. I want to apply to 1st year of bachelor’s degree at a public university (Licence 1).

You must follow DAP DOSSIER BLANC (Preliminary Admission Request) procedure on “Etudes en France – EeF” platform”. The DAP application procedure allows students to apply to three public universities.

Deadlines to submit your application: Start date 01/10/2024 – End date 15/12/2024

Language requirements

Students whose home country does not have French as an official language must take a French language exam.

Students can take one of these three exams : Test de Connaissance du Français Tout Public (TCF TP), DELF B2 or DELF Junior. These exams are organized by the Alliance Française of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the leading French language centers, except for the DELF Junior organized by the Alliance Française of Sharjah. The DELF Junior is designed for students under the age of 18.

French tests fees:

TCF TP : 1500 AED – registration must be done on the Alliance Française of Dubai website

DELF B2 : 680 AED – registration must be done on the Alliance Française of Dubai & Abu Dhabi websites

DELF JUNIOR : 450 AED – registration must be done on the Alliance Française of Sharjah

 

 

Scenario B. I want to apply to 2nd/3rd year of bachelor’s degree at a public university (Licence 2/Licence 3).

You must follow the regular “Etudes En France – EEF” procedure“.

Deadlines to submit your application: Start date 01/10/2024 – End date 03/03/2025

Language requirements

You may check the requirements of the university.

 

 

Scenario C. I want to apply to an architecture degree in one of the National Schools of Architecture known as (ENSA’s).

You must follow DAP DOSSIER JAUNE (Preliminary Admission Request) procedure on “Etudes en France – EeF” platform. The DAP DOSSIER JAUNE application procedure allows students to apply to two National Schools of Architecture known as (ENSA’s).

Deadlines to submit your application: Start date 01/10/2024 – End date 15/12/2024

Language requirements

Students whose home country does not have French as an official language are required to take a French language exam.

Students have the possibility to take one of these three exams : Test de Connaissance du Français Tout Public (TCF TP), DELF B2 and DELF Junior. These exams are organized by the Alliance Française of Dubai, the leading French language center, except for the DELF Junior organized by Alliance Française of Sharjah. The DELF Junior is designed for students under the age of 18.

Applying at a private university

Scenario A. I want to apply to 1st/2nd/3rd year of bachelor’s degree at a private university.

You must follow the regular “Etudes En France – EEF” procedure. In case you are unable to find the program on EEF portal, you must submit a direct application on the university’s website.

Deadlines to submit your application: Start date 01/10/2024 – End date 03/03/2025

Language requirements

You may check the requirements of the university.

 

Please note that you can apply to 7 academic programs in total. 

If you are planning to join the first year of a bachelor’s degree, you have specific entitlements depending on the type of university. At public universities, you can apply to 3 programs, whereas at architecture universities, you can apply to 2 programs. If you prefer private universities, you have the flexibility to apply to 7 programs.

For those planning to join the second or third year of a bachelor’s degree, you have even more options. You can apply to a total of 7 programs at public universities or 7 programs at private universities. Additionally, you have the freedom to mix and match by applying to both public and private universities.
