Target Audience and Goal Statement
This educational activity is intended for an audience of obstetricians/gynecologists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners/physician
assistants, pediatricians, nurses, and pharmacists in the United States.
The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to implement guideline-based screening recommendations to address
the rising burden of syphilis and congenital syphilis.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will:
- Have greater competence related to
- Identifying nonpregnant women who should be screened for syphilis
- Implementing guideline-based screening recommendations for syphilis in pregnancy
- Appropriately recommending treatment for the prevention of congenital syphilis
- Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
