The Transforming futures project leverages action research, allowing schools to assess their current sustainability practices, identify gaps, and co-design more effective strategies. This participatory approach ensures that changes are context-relevant and owned by the school communities themselves. With peer-to-peer exchanges continuing throughout 2025 and a global symposium planned for early 2026, UNESCO aims to turn these pilots into a global blueprint for sustainability in education.
By equipping schools with evidence-based tools and fostering international collaboration, the project is not only transforming classrooms but also helping create a more sustainable and inclusive world, one lesson at a time.
