How to become a member
You can become a member for free at any of our locations and the mobile library.
You need to bring your:
- proof of identity with photo, such as a passport or driver’s licence
- proof of address, such as bank statement or utility bill
These can be a physical or digital copy.
Our library members get access to all our resources and services including:
- borrowing books and other materials from any of our locations
- borrowing digital collections, such as ebooks and audiobooks
- free access to our computer facilities
- our Home Delivery Service
Children memberships
Children can become library members from birth.
To sign up a child aged under 18, visit one of our locations and bring your:
- proof of identity
- proof of address
This is to make sure we have their parent or guardian’s details on records. You don’t need the child’s proof of identity.
With their library card your child has access to all our resources. They need to be aged 16 or over to use our computers.
All babies born in Jersey automatically receive
My First Book Bag.
Visitor library card
If you visit the Island, you can get a visitor library card to:
- borrow books from any of our locations
- borrow audiobooks, ebooks, emagazines and enewspapers
- have free access to our computers
To get a visitor card, come to the Town Library to complete the form and either:
- exchange your home library card
- provide a £25 deposit
The card is valid for 6 weeks.
